Improving English Literacy & Basic Employment Skills

Basic Employment and Language Training Project 2007

The Project consists of an 8 week in-class portion. In the mornings, there are workshops on resume writing, how to find a job in Canada, job interviews, and other important topics. In the afternoons, there are English classes for people who think this would be helpful. After that, people go on an 8-10 week work placement, where they do volunteer work with a company which might hire someone with their training. The purpose of the work placement is to gain some Canadian work experience, and to get to know other people in their field of training.
